hopefully someone can help with this!
I`m looking to start a motif app on a different workspace to the one I typed the command on under the metacity window manager. Has anyone managed this?

Pop up apps in different workspaces
You`d have to catch the window-map appearance and then add a property to the window specific to the window manager such that the window manager can use that data to move the window to the specific virtual workspace.
