This has probably been discussed in the past, so I apologise in advance if this is the case. There's already a large number of terminal emulators in existence for Linux -- probably too many to list, but each have their own shortcomings.
Since my love for Motif is strong, I'm wondering if it is possible, or whether there is a planned clone of Dtterm for Linux. The only thing which emulates it a little bit is 'gnome-yerminal', but that is slow and uses GTK -- not good! )
We're probably already halfway there. The sources for 'mxterm' (an *extremely* old hack on xterm to provide a motif toolbar) exist, and this might provide a framework to work from, although the code, being as old as it is, probably needs a massive overhaul if not a re-write.
Is anybody interested in this? Is it feasible, plausible? Is there something already in existence? My google searches have been fruitless.
