OSX openMotif2.2.1

Submitted by whaefner on Tue, 02/19/2002 - 08:49.

Dear sirs

I tried to build your system openMotif-2.2.1 from source on my
Mac OSX1.2 System. Unfortunately the compilation Process stopped
with an error

Scale.c68 header file `langinfo.h` not found

in directory openMotif-2.2.1/lib/Xm/.
Indeed this file ist not present on my machine.

What do I have to do to make openMotif running?
or
Where do I get the right file langinfo.h?

Thank you for your help

with kind regards

Wolfgang Haefner

OSX openMotif2.2.1

Is there a readme file or any documentation for the openMotif Mac OSX v2.2.1 installation package? I am running Mac OSX v10.1.3 with the latest version of xfree86. X-windows in rootless mode works great, but I have no idea where openMotif is installed. Moreover, I can`t seem to compile the source code either (but I admit I`m not very sofisticated). Any thoughts?

Everything got installed (wrongly. bad damian!) into /usr/local, but 2.2.1 was compiled against OSX 10.0. I`ve run across quite a few problems after I upgraded to 10.1.x, so most of the demos wont work. Most of the main problems have been resolved, and will be commited to CVS sometime this week (after much testing, of course).
The lack of a Darwin specific README is my fault, and I`ll whip one up for the next release.

I`m struggling to get it to compile on OSX 10.1.3. One thing I noticed is that one can easily solve whaefner`s problem by doing a
make CFLAGS=-DCSRG_BASED
which gets around the rather small use of a fancy code to get the length of a period....
Still, I`m having much more problems linking with multiple symbol definitions and the test programs then don`t work.... Has this issue been solved?

yep, the multiple symbols and test programs not working (because of the multiple symbols) will be fixed.
I`ll post a note in this tread when it is in CVS
